It turns out still very good without the baking powder! Perhaps adding some shredded cheddar cheese would goes well with the rosemary and bacon.

"patpat" I can totally understand that. I forgot the baking powder when baking cookies once and they turned out like rocks too.

They make good pictures though! Looking forward to more of your lovely posts :).

This sounds like my "cake without butter" saga! :) Don't worry, I'm sure if you smear it thickly with cream and jam, no one would notice! :)

i'm sure they taste awesome, though :)
we all have our bad times.
like how my macarons were epic fail at first!

If we don't practise to make something for a long time , that will be a mishap !

I have the other experience when I’ve forgotten to add butter in the muffin , so it become half of the rock.

The only thing I can do was to soak the rock-liked muffin in the egg and milk mixture in order to make them into pudding instead of wasting those ingredients !

Well they look lovely anyway :)

Hi Grace, CY, I tried eating one of them, the taste is already, but I had to break it up into pieces otherwise my teeth would probably fall off!

Sonia, I brushed the top with milk, and place the scones very closely together, almost touching one another. Maybe that's the reason why the sides are not brown? and also my oven has only one set of heating coils on the top, so only the tops get browned.

Hi Bakeling, I don't know what was wrong with me...I can't believe I could forget about the baking powder since my mind was so pre-occupied with making my own baking powder these few days!

Hi Jolene, are you referring to my post on "Oreo Peanut Butter Chips Muffins"? I got them from Cold Storage (Vivo city), but that was early last year. Since then I have not seen them on the shelves. You can try look for it at Candy Empire, good luck.

These would probably be absolutely delicious combined with a warm soup or stew. Rock hard or not... they still look great and probably taste great.
